Ringbio is pleased to announce that our ASFV Ab ELISA kit is validated by the European Union Reference Laboratory for African Swine Fever (EURL-ASF). The kit is an immunoassay test that can detect P30 specific antibodies of ASFV in swine serum or plasma samples within 60 minutes.
African swine fever (ASF) is a highly contagious and fatal viral disease that affects both domestic and wild pigs of all ages. ASF has no vaccine or treatment and can cause severe economic losses to the pig industry. ASF is not a threat to human health or food safety.
The EURL-ASF is a research center that provides diagnostic services, training, and scientific advice on ASF to the European Commission and the member states. The EURL-ASF also coordinates the network of national reference laboratories for ASF in the EU.
The validation of Ringbio’s ASFV Ab ELISA kit by the EURL-ASF means that the kit meets the international standards for ASF diagnosis and can be used for surveillance and control of the disease in the EU and other regions. The kit has a sensitivity of 95% and a specificity of 100%, according to Ringbio.
Ringbio also offers other products for ASF diagnosis, such as ASFV Ag ELISA kit, ASFV Ab rapid test kit, and ASFV Ag rapid test kit. These products are based on different principles and targets of the ASF virus and can be used for different purposes and scenarios, check this link for more information.
