CSFV, PRRSV Duplex Real-time PCR Kit is used to detect CSFV & PRRSV gene sequence in blood, lymph nodes, tonsil, spleen, kidney and other swine samples. It can also be used in feed and environmental swabs.
Classical swine fever (CSF), also known as hog cholera, is a contagious viral disease of domestic and wild swine. It is caused by a virus of the genus Pestivirus of the family Flaviviridae, which is closely related to the viruses that cause bovine viral diarrhoea in cattle and border disease in sheep. There is only one serotype of CSF virus (CSFV). CSF is a disease listed by the OIE World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code and must be reported to the OIE (OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code).
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is a virus that causes a disease of pigs, called porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), also known as blue-ear pig disease. This economically important, panzootic disease causes reproductive failure in breeding stock and respiratory tract illness in young pigs. The disease costs the United States swine industry around $644 million annually, and recent estimates in Europe found that it costs almost 1.5 billion euros every year.
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus is highly contagious in pig herds. It can be transmitted by direct contact or by infectious aerosols. Vaccines have been used to limit the propagation of the disease.
